Jan Kwiatkowski, LMFT, is a marriage and family therapist at Cedar Lake Counseling in Mequon. Before becoming a therapist, Jan worked as the Director of Pastoral Care at St. John’s On The Lake with a specialty in grief and bereavement, family conflict, and end of life decision making. Her areas of specialty in her therapy practice include trauma, domestic violence, infant, child and adolescent mental health, and mindfulness practice for all ages. Abbey Kruper, PsyD received her Doctorate of Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She sees patients at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital Campus, as well as within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Kruper focuses specifically on perinatal mental health and psychological aspects of infertility. She sees women attempting conception, struggling with infertility, during pregnancy, or within 6 months postpartum (for initial referral). Laura Gertz, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who sees patients at the Aurora Behavioral Health Center in Franklin, WI. She has more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field treating children, adolescents, and adults. She also has a specialty treating perinatal depression and anxiety and offers an 8-week cognitive-behaviorial group for women suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety. The group focuses on strategies related to challenging irrational thinking as well as behavioral strategies to improve positive coping. Services may be insurance billable. Susan Barbour, Ed.D. is a licensed psychologist and a psychoanalyst helping women with the emotional issues of  pregnancy, miscarriage, and/or postpartum depression and anxiety. She is Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry and Behavior Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Pregnancy and Parenting Support with Catholic Charities offers a home visit education and support program for prenatal and postpartum women. Mental Health Clinicians are also available to provide therapy in the home through this program. All pregnancy and parenting supportive services are free of charge. Therapy services accept state insurance or are available with a sliding fee. Their office is in Milwaukee, WI.

The Family Counseling Clinic at Aurora Family Services provides qualified staff who have extensive training in infant, childhood and family mental health and understand the unique needs and challenges PPD and related illnesses bring to a mom and family.
